What is the flat roof?

The flat roof is a patented fixed roof system that is a self-supporting structure, due to the way the tongue and groove steel sheets are made. This removes the need for bulky support beams and purlins, which traditionally become home to spiders and birds.

The design of the connection between the light-diffusing PVC panels and the high-tensile steel sheet solves the problem of grime building up in every valley of a traditional clearlite roof structure.

What wind zones can a flat roof withstand?

New Zealand is a windy place which is often a concern for Kiwis.
The flat roof is engineered up to Very High wind zones, along with a number of Extra High wind zones, which includes almost the entire North Island.

What are some advantages of adding a flat roof?

- Extend your living space with a fully weatherproof covering.
- Space for friends and family to connect.
- Add value to your home.
- Enables a lifestyle that expands beyond the size of your home.
- Allows for outdoor plans without worrying about the weather.

Do you offer customised flat roof solutions?

Yes! Every time we we cover a deck or patio area with a flat roof, it is custom made to that space. Our outdoor room experts are knowledgeable in the engineering specification and are able to create the right solution for you.

Whether you have an existing timber pergola, verandah space that needs covering or a lean-to awning, the flat roof provides an innovative and versatile solution to each of these areas.
We have even had customers use this system as a carport to match other outdoor spaces around their home.

What maintenance is required for the flat roof?

No one wants to spend their summer cleaning their covering.
The flat roof requires minimal upkeep, with an annual wash to keep the space feeling fresh and clean.

The materials used are high-tensile steel manufactured with a colorbond-like process, ensuring the colour is baked into the metal, making it resistant to scratching and imperfections.
The light-diffusing panels consist of 4mm thick UV-rated PVC, which are slightly arched, to help keep them clean by washing the grime onto the steel sheets.
